It all starts with soccer video game music followed by songs that embody various emotions that may come up during and after this particular soccer match. Laibach and Turmion Kätilöt’s industrial bombast, Youandewan’s sounds as the game comes to the end, followed by the celebratory Super Europe and Friday Fahrenheit. Italian tunes by Kirlian Camera and Goblin end the show a bit in minor.

Soulseek is a unique network of music enthousiasts of obscure and hard to find music; i.e. a perfect match for the Edge listener. The Internet or better the freedoms citizens of the world have enjoyed since the net’s inception, are under a continuous threat from big bizz to take away these freedoms. An assault is orchestrated in the hope to curb free speech and free exchange of information. It goes so far to propose for bizz to have unprecedented power to spy on internet users, well, that is of course everyone in the world. Citizen rights we enjoy in the off line world, soon may not be allowed online. CISPA is the latest attempt and it is damn right scary. Oh well, next our celebration of free speech and free sharing of the music and sounds we love.

Today some attention to the close down of our friend the music blog search engine CaptainCrawl. After pressure from music industry CC has thrown in the towel and closed itself down. Then some discussion on a new project by Remote Jeroen and co. called openbibliotheken.nl with the aim to shake up the almost asleep library community about copyright issues, the internet and threats from the industry to liberties we all still take for granted, but are under serious threat (i.e. ACTA, etc.).
